Cogir’s initiative in creating the Jardins Intérieurs squad was recognized during the QSHG’s (Quebec Seniors' Housing Group) virtually held 2020 gala event, in the 100-door and over retirement home category.

Emotions were running high last evening, just before the names of this year’s winners were announced. This event, designed to reward extraordinary endeavours in the industry, always generates a great deal of expectations in its players. It is usually quite festive. While it was remotely held this year, that did not take away any of its glamour.

The Cogir squad was deployed last March, as the confinement began. Its mission was to assist residents in their daily lives and to help them deal with these major disruptions. Personnel was hired so that there would be dedicated staff members for the residents’ needs. In a manner of speaking, the squad became a new family for the residents. Squad members were available to help with online grocery purchases, assist with Skype calls to family members, ensure that deliveries were disinfected, supervise outdoor travel, and much more.
