Cogir Real Estate is proud to announce that it recently received the prestigious BOMA BEST certification for its Jazz Longueuil and Jazz Drummondville buildings. This certification recognizes excellence in energy performance and environmental management i

“Every day, members of our technical services team endeavour to find new ways to improve living environments for seniors. This certification recognizes not only the environmentally responsible aspect of our buildings, but also the efforts made to create living spaces that address the needs and concerns of the people living there and their families,” says Luc Couturier, Vice-President, Technical Services and Procurement.

Ten key areas are assessed in order to determine a building’s energy performance and environmental management level. BOMA-certified inspectors critically examine various practices related to energy, water, air quality, comfort, health and wellness, maintenance services, procurement, residual materials, the site and stakeholders’ level of engagement. “This certification and BEST practices urge us to regularly examine how we carry out our daily operations. It’s a tangible way of transforming environmentally responsible aims into concrete actions,” adds Yves Duguay, Vice-President Operations, Private Retirement Homes Division.

This certification confirms Cogir’s intentions with regard to environmental responsibility. “One of the company’s core values is to humanize the real estate industry and to construct and manage buildings for people, while safeguarding the interests of future generations. This concept is central to our operations,” says Frédéric Soucy, President, COGIR Management Corporation. The company is also working on implementing other green initiatives.
