Cogir Auto, a car-sharing service featuring an electrically powered automobile provided free of charge at the disposal of the retirement home’s residents, was launched on November 27 in the presence of Mr. Benjamin Demelin, Regional Director of Cogir Real Estate’s Private Retirement Homes Division, Ms. Lise Duchesne, Jardins Vaudreuil’s General Manager, Mr. Guy Pilon, Vaudreuil-Dorion's Mayor and Ms. Jasmine Sharma, Vaudreuil-Dorion City Councilwoman.

An Electrically Powered Automobile – An Innovative Solution

“As we constantly strive to facilitate the life of our residents, we are very proud to inaugurate Cogir Auto on this day in the presence of Jardins Vaudreuil’s residents. Cogir Auto provides a multitude of benefits for residents, such as saving on the many costs of maintaining a private automobile or the freedom and independence of being able to run errands and go to appointments. After the launch of electrically powered automobile in other retirement homes, enthusiasm for the service was so strong that some residents volunteered to drive others, thereby favouring a community spirit among the occupants,” stated Mr. Benjamin Demelin, Cogir Real Estate’s Regional Director.

Not only is the vehicle fully electric, but many safety features have been added to ensure user safety. The car is in fact equipped with an integrated GPS system which follows and locates the vehicle in all its travels and sends real-time mechanical information to the residence. This ensures that the car will always be safe and in working order.

Jardins Vaudreuil’s CogirAuto joins some twenty other electric cars already in service in Cogir’s fleet. Visit residencescogir.com/ for additional information concerning the Jardins Vaudreuil retirement home.
